Stucco Application
Stucco is a long-lasting, durable exterior material popular on homes in many parts of North America., most commonly in the West and Southwest. In today’s generation, a smooth stucco texture is a trend in both new construction and renovations. Our team has extensive knowledge of working on a variety of buildings including townhouses, duplexes, condos/lowrises, industrial units & residential homes.

Building Envelope Solutions
As building envelope specialists, we go beyond application. We provide comprehensive solutions for the entire building envelope, addressing insulation, moisture management, and code compliance to create structures that stand the test of time.
Transforming commercial spaces with Building Envelope Upgrades & Restorations:
At First Choice Stucco, we specialize in reviving commercial buildings through comprehensive Building Envelope Upgrades & Restorations. Our expert team is dedicated to enhancing the durability, efficiency and aesthetic appeal of your property’s exterior, ensuring long-lasting results that stand the test of time.
Repair Work
Our team specializes in all kinds of repair work (Residential/Multi-Family/Industrial). Stucco tends to go bad after 7-8 decades, but if poorly applied it can easily result in early damage & cracking. Our team can always match the stucco’s prior texture & color even if the texture is not noted on our website.

Rain Screen Installment
With technology always advancing, our new “rain-screen system” is designed to provide a capillary break. The system is also able to allow drainage of any water that is trapped which will not lead to any moisture problems in the future.
Energy Efficiency
When it comes to sheathing options like Tyvek and SIGA papers, they primarily serve as weather-resistant barriers and air barriers rather than providing insulation. However, their proper installation and use can significantly contribute to energy efficiency in a building. Here’s how:
Tyvek House Wrap
- Water and Air Barrier : Tyvek acts as a weather-resistant barrier, preventing the intrusion of water into the building envelope. It also functions as an air barrier, minimizing air leakage through the walls.
- Energy Efficiency : By reducing air infiltration, Tyvek helps maintain a more consistent indoor temperature. This, in turn, contributes to energy efficiency by reducing the workload on heating and cooling systems.
SIGA Papers
- Air and Vapor Control : SIGA papers, such as SIGA Majrex, are designed to control air movement and resist vapor diffusion. These properties are crucial for creating a tight building envelope.
- Energy Efficiency : Properly installed SIGA papers contribute to energy efficiency by preventing uncontrolled air movement through the walls. This ensures that conditioned air stays inside the building, reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling.
Commercial Tyvek Wrap
- Some Tyvek products are specifically designed for commercial applications, offering robust protection against the elements and promoting energy efficiency in larger structures, but are also applied on residential homes as they are thicker and more energy efficient.
- These commercial-grade products can be instrumental in preventing energy loss due to air infiltration and water intrusion, especially in high-rise buildings or commercial spaces.
By integrating these sheathing products into your stucco application process, you can offer clients a comprehensive solution that enhances both the durability and energy efficiency of their buildings.
Tyvek Wrap & Lath/Wiring:
Tyvek home wrap is designed to help prevent air from getting inside the walls. When properly installed, it protects the insulation’s R-value and also helps keep the water out. Secondly comes the high-grade lath which holds up the first coat known as the “scratch coat.” Then comes the second coat & lastly the finish coat which is chosen by the client.
Exterior Finish Systems (EIFS)
Exterior Finishing Systems also referred to as “EIFS” are typically known as the systems which are on commercial, strata & industrial buildings. The BC Building code does not require EIFS which is why it is not used on residential houses and is commonly used on commercial buildings instead.

Maintenance
Stucco has little to no care needed which is why it stands out. Compared to other exterior competitors, stucco does not grow mold or algae.
